Minnesota has a chance to become the first state in the nation to pass “Fair Repair” legislation in the coming session. We have a chance to guarantee our right to repair our computers, refrigerators, cell phones and tractors. We have a chance to help the environment and stand up for local repair jobs — the corner mom-and-pop repair shops that keep getting squeezed out by manufacturers.
We've been working with local repair companies, non-profit refurbishers, and tech-savvy politicians to come up with a solution. The Minnesota Legislature will consider a Fair Repair bill in March making sure that consumers have fair and affordable options for repair and reuse of all their purchases.
If you agree with us, find out who represents you in Minnesota's legislatures. Tell them that you want the right to repair your purchases. Tell them repair is good for the environment, good for consumers, and good for businesses. Unlike most national politicians, your local representatives will listen to you. In fact, they're eager to hear from their constituents.
